See everything ! Up, down and sideways from a single safe view port position
Record the whole or part of any enclosed area
Options to meet a variety of needs
Reliable and easy to use
Full Colour Images
Use: to interface with radioactive zones
Quality Optics = Quality Viewing
View up/down/ sideways from a single position.
Static front element projects only 15mm into radioactive zone. Therefore there is no opportunity for mechanical or electronic breakdown in radiation contaminated hot zone.

All but the widest of these compact, high-quality, radiation-tolerant lenses are a mere 32mm (1¼") from the front to the D-mount, with a maximum diameter of 22.5 mm.
The small physical size enables them to be used in a variety of tight situations. The thread on the front of the lens can be used for environmental sealing.

Abakus Radiation Tolerant Mini Borescope Probe
This mini borescope probe has been designed as a viewing system for narrow holes. The probe is just 20mm diameter. It enables viewing from a safe port position into a radioactive zone, so that a radioactive enclosed area can be seen. The front lens wide angle of view is 100°. This wide image is then transferred through the wall by quality straight optical relays (length anywhere between 150mm and 300mm) which include inbuilt radiation shielding, a 90° relay module to stop any direct line of sight radiation is then available. The rear of the relays can then be fitted to standard c-mount cameras or other camera mounts on request.
The front optical group provides an angle of view of 100°. This interfaces with the radioactive zone. The static, rugged construction of this part of the system has no opportunity for mechanical or electronic breakdown because there are no moving or electronic components. The radiation tolerant relays are also made entirely from rugged static components and interface with the front optical group at the hot end of the system and camera at the cool end. The whole provides an ideal light weight reliable inspection tool, for instant real-time viewing or for the systematic collection of archive images.
Specials
Abakus Scientific manufactures a range of radiation tolerant lenses and optical systems.
The majority of these are designed to the customers specifications and then manufactured exclusively for that customer.
For example this 16 to 96mm , f/2.8 zoom lens was designed and manufactured for AEA Technology (now Centronic Raditec).
